Prospect
School

Welcome to the new Prospect School website. I would like to thank you for showing an interest in our very wonderful school. I hope that you find the information you need to decide whether Prospect School is the best place for your son.

We pride ourselves on really listening to students and their parents and carers and using feedback to make sure that what we offer fits what is needed to enable all to achieve. We thus have a very clear understanding of the hopes and aspirations which boys and their families have.

Prospect staff have a very high level of expertise in working with behavioural and emotional difficulties, as well as social/communication needs (including Autism Spectrum Condition) and Speech, Language, and Communication issues. We aim for students, above all, to be happy, relaxed and to feel confident that adults understand their needs and feel passionate about meeting and supporting them. At the same time, we are an academic school with relentlessly high expectations of student achievement, because we believe that is what changes lives and provides opportunities beyond time in school.

We have an extensive consultancy service and through this provide support to both students and staff in mainstream schools. Prospect is currently a hub for Havant Borough Supporting Troubled Families Programme in partnership with the DWP and Southern Domestic Abuse Service, and a training unit for social workers from the Universities of Portsmouth and Winchester. We are full members of the Havant Federation of Schools and The Solent Teaching Alliance, working in close partnership with our mainstream colleagues to raise standards and support the needs of all secondary aged students across the District.

We hope that you enjoy exploring our website and that you feel as warmly welcome here as you would be at our school itself. Please do contact us if there is any more information which we can provide for you.
