Prospect School, a specialist provision in Havant, UK, is dedicated to supporting boys aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive education that includes academic, functional, and vocational skills, ensuring every student thrives in a nurturing yet stimulating environment.

We are looking for an SEMH Teacher to join our dynamic team. This position offers a competitive salary, including an SEN allowance, reflecting our commitment to attracting skilled professionals who are passionate about making a difference.

About You:

You are an innovative, compassionate, and resilient educator with experience or a strong desire to work within SEMH. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a trauma-informed environment, supporting students with complex needs and behavioural challenges. Whether you have a primary or secondary teaching background, your ability to engage and inspire students with SEMH needs will have a lasting impact on their lives and educational journey. We are looking for teachers who can teach across a range of subjects including English and Maths in addition to their own specialism.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • A solid understanding of differentiated learning experiences and behaviour management within a trauma-informed framework.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in SEMH and special education.
  • A collaborative approach to working with parents, carers, and other professionals.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering a curriculum that meets the needs of individual students across Key Stages 1-4.
  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s values and procedures.
  • Creating a positive, nurturing environment that motivates, engages, and inspires students.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and holistic development of young people.

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Salary: Grade C

Location: Havant

Contract: Temp to Perm

Join Prospect School, an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school for boys aged 11-16, and make a real impact on students’ lives. We are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants who embody our values of respect, belief, and achievement.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students’ learning, help regulate their behaviour, and create a safe and conducive environment for their growth.

Requirements

  • Genuine passion for working with young people with SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and shared interests such as sport, gaming, music, fitness, the outdoors, horse riding or sailing.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
