Prospect School, a specialist provision in Havant, UK, is dedicated to supporting boys aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are looking for an SEMH Teacher to join our dynamic team. This position offers a competitive salary, including an SEN allowance, reflecting our commitment to attracting skilled professionals who are passionate about making a difference.
About You:
You are an innovative, compassionate, and resilient educator with experience or a strong desire to work within SEMH. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a trauma-informed environment, supporting students with complex needs and behavioural challenges.
You will have a primary teaching background with an ability to engage and inspire students with SEMH needs. We are looking for teachers who can teach across a range of subjects including English and Maths in addition to their own specialism.
Key Requirements:
- Primary teaching experience.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
- A solid understanding of differentiated learning experiences and behaviour management within a trauma-informed framework.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in SEMH and special education.
- A collaborative approach to working with parents, carers, and other professionals.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering a curriculum that meets the needs of individual students across Key Stages 1-4.
- Implementing positive behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s values and procedures.
- Creating a positive, nurturing environment that motivates, engages, and inspires students.
- Commitment to the safeguarding and holistic development of young people.
