Embracing the Joy and Meeting the Challenges of Christmas Together

The festive season is a time of joy, celebration, and often, a break from the usual routines. However, for many students, especially those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, this period can be challenging. At Prospect School, we recognise the importance of providing continuous support to our students and their families during this time.

We are delighted to introduce a comprehensive information resource created by APS – the Adoption Partnership South East – aimed at offering practical tips, advice, and support to families and children during the Christmas holidays. This guide is designed to help you understand and navigate the unique challenges that the festive season can bring.

The APS resource provides valuable insights into keeping a sense of normalcy during the holidays and practical advice on preparing for the transition back to school. This can be particularly helpful in mitigating the pre- and post-Christmas blues that some children might experience.

We encourage parents, carers and anyone involved in supporting our students to utilise this resource. It is a step towards creating a supportive and understanding environment for our children during this festive season. You can access the guide here.

Prospect School remains committed to the well-being of our students and their families and is here to offer support and guidance.
